The 20 Minute Project

I love a good project! However, some DIY projects can be out of reach for the every day homeowner. While I've done my share of large scale home projects over the years, there's something to be said for the "20 minute project" that can bring a spark of creativity to a home.

This week, I added a much needed pop to a small corner wall in our guest bedroom. This project began with a box of alphabet cards from Colonial Williamsburg.

After measuring the cards, I picked up four 5x7 white wash frames. I cut four, 5x7 pieces of purple stripped paper, attaching the cards for the letters L, O, V, and E to each piece of paper.

Once the alphabet cards and backing were assembled in the frames, I was ready to hang them on the wall.

With very little effort and resources, I was finally able to put these whimsical cards on display while bringing some much needed personality to an overlooked corner of our home. This same technique can be used to display a variety of momentos; such as a cherished love note, a child's artwork or even an old family recipe. By putting such treasures on display, our homes become reflections of the lives we live and the people we love.
